Colorado Crash Kills Three from Wyoming

Three people from Cheyenne, Wyo. are dead and two injured in a one vehicle crash about seven miles south of the Wyoming border on Highway 85. The Weld County Coroners Office has identified 21-year-old Michael Gnoato, 21-year-old Michael DeLa Rosa and 19-yr-old Mariah DeLa Rosa as those who died in the crash.

Gnoato is active duty Air Force and Michael and Mariah DeLa Rosa are brother and sister.

Trooper Josh Lewis of the Colorado Highway Patrol says the crash happened at about 3 a.m. when the driver failed to negotiate a curve. Lewis says the crash was not found until around 5 a.m.

“Right now we don’t believe that drugs or alcohol were considered a factor,” Lewis said. “There obviously will be thorough investigation. We do believe that speed may be considered as a contributing factor.

The Weld County Coroners Office reports that the driver, a 22-year-old male from Cheyenne, blew a 0.0 on the blood alcohol meter. The driver was flown to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center and a 20-year-old female was taken to the hospital in Greeley with life threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
