Head coach Joe Legerski and the Wyoming Cowgirl basketball program announced the completion of the 2013-14 schedule with the addition of the Mountain West contests on Monday. The Cowgirls’ home schedule will feature nine MW games along with the six other non-conference contests. Game times will be released at a later date.
Wyoming opens up league play at home as they host the Nevada Wolf Pack, on Saturday, January 4. During the month, they will also welcome the Boise State Broncos, on Sat., Jan. 11; Air Force, Wed., Jan. 22; and NCAA participant Fresno State, on Wed., Jan. 29. The Cowgirls will welcome the New Mexico Lobos and the UNLV Lady Rebels in back-to-back home games, on Wednesday, Feb. 5 and Saturday, Feb. 8. Newcomer San Jose State will visit the Double A for the first time since 1997, on Saturday, Feb. 15, while rival Colorado State makes the trip to Laramie, on Saturday, Feb. 22. They will close out their home schedule on Tuesday, March 4, against MW newcomer Utah State.
In all, the Cowgirls will play 18 Mountain West games, scheduled mainly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They will play eight opponents twice in a home-and-home series and two opponents just one time. This season, they will play the defending champion San Diego State Aztecs, on Wednesday, Feb. 12, in San Diego, while hosting the UNLV Lady Rebels, on Feb. 8.
The Mountain West tournament will be held in Las Vegas, Nev. at the Thomas & Mack Center. The first round of the tournament is set for Monday, March 10, the quarterfinals, on Tuesday, March 11; the semifinals, on Friday, March 14; and the championship game, on Saturday, March. 15.
