I think everyone in Wyoming knows just what kind of player that junior quarterback Brett Smith is. But his performance last Saturday, in Wyoming’s 37-34 at #18 Nebraska, was as good as it gets. Smith continually directed the Cowboy offense down the field and put them in positions to score, as the Pokes racked up over 600 yards of total offense. Smith threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns, while running for another 92 yards. So you don’t have to tell head coach Dave Christensen how special a player Smith is.
Wide receiver Dominic Rufran, who caught 11 passes for 120 yards from Smith, says that what Smith did Saturday night, is just the type of player he is, so everyone should take notice.
Wyoming starts the season 0-1, and will host Idaho Saturday afternoon in Laramie. That kickoff is set for 2 pm.
