The new chief executive officer of the Wyoming Lottery Corporation has moved back the full implementation of the lottery to 2015. CEO Jon Clontz presented the new timeline to the Lottery Board on Monday. The board had been hoping to start selling lottery tickets in early spring of 2014.
“Now that the lottery is authorized, every day that we’re open but don’t have a lottery we’re losing revenue,” said lottery board member Mark Macy. “The board wanted a pretty aggressive timeline as far getting the lottery started, but Clontz wants to push that back.”
Macy says Clontz informed the board of new testing required by the the Multi-State Lottery Division to make sure new lotteries are fully secure.
