Lummis to Donate Salary During Shutdown

Wyoming U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis announced on Thursday that she will donate her salary during the partial government shutdown. In a release, Lummis said her salary will go to CLIMB Wyoming, a non-profit that trains and places low-income single mothers in careers.

Also on Thursday, Lummis voted to approve individual bills that would provide funds for VA benefit processing; provide pay for National Guard and Reserves; and, open National Parks and museums during the shutdown.

Lummis called on the U.S. Senate to pass these measures saying that while funding the federal government in a piecemeal fashion is not ideal, it is the only viable avenue so long as democrats focus on protecting the special treatment they and their allies receive under Obamacare.
