Lost ammunition from an F.E. Warren security forces team Humvee shut down nine miles of Interstate 80 in Nebraska Thursday morning. According to a press release from F.E. Warren, the security forces team traveling in the missile field lost a small amount of 40mm ammunition from the back of a Humvee Wednesday evening.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation closed Interstate 80 from mile post zero to nine Thursday morning while security forces from F.E. Warren searched for the ammo. Once the lost ammunition was recovered and accounted for the interstate was opened up at 11am Thursday. F.E. Warren says the lost 40mm rounds were never expected to cause any damage to personnel or vehicles traveling on interstate 80 in the area.
