U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis announced her re-election bid on Wednesday in Cheyenne. Lummis said she wants a fourth term representing Wyoming in Congress so she can work to reduce the federal government’s role in the Cowboy State.
“The federal government cannot do better for Wyoming, than Wyoming can do for itself,” Lummis said. “So part of my goal in running again is to remind my colleagues, and work hard with them, to ensure that Wyoming earns its own success, makes its own path, and that its people can pull up to a gas pump or go to a grocery store and afford to live here, and to pursue happiness the way they choose.”
During her announcement, the Republican representative also praised the Wyoming Legislature and said she wants the U.S. Congress to utilize committee work the way Wyoming’s lawmakers do.
