Governor Mitt Romney announced his endorsement of Matt Mead’s re-election bid.
“I’m honored to have Governor Romney’s endorsement,” said Governor Mead. “His support means a great deal to me in great part because of his leadership and integrity. As a former Governor, Mitt understands the importance of State leadership. Wyoming has had to push back on federal government overreach and push forward sound economic policies. Wyoming continues to be one of the top states to do business and we are setting an example for the nation.”
“I’m proud to endorse Governor Mead because of his tremendous leadership. Under Matt’s guidance, Wyoming has had one of the strongest economies in the country,” said Governor Mitt Romney. “Matt has aggressively fought actions by the federal government and the EPA that would hurt Wyoming’s energy and agricultural industries. He has battled to protect Wyoming water and to prevent the expansion of the Clean Water Act. He is a conservative Republican that Wyoming families can trust to continue moving Wyoming forward.”
Romney, a former Governor of Massachusetts, easily carried Wyoming in his loss to President Barak Obama in the 2012 presidential election. Mead face primary challenges from State Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill, and Dr. Taylor Haynes in next month’s primary.
