Wyoming lawmakers have rejected a proposal that would have increased the state’s vehicle registrations fees by $10.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports that the Joint Transportation, Highways and Military Affairs Interim Committee voted Tuesday not to sponsor the bill.
Revenue from the proposed fee increase would have been used to upgrade a statewide computer system that is used manage vehicle titles, vehicle registration, identification cards, concealed carry permits, driver’s licenses and driving records. The current system was built in the 1980s.
An individual lawmaker could revive the committee’s proposal by sponsoring a bill for the 2016 legislation.
