One of the strengths of the Wyoming Cowboy football team is supposed to be the offensive line. They’ve got tons of experience up front, but they didn’t perform up to their standards in last Saturday’s 19-16 win over Montana State. Head coach Craig Bohl felt they should’ve been able to dominate the line of scrimmage, and didn’t think they did such a good job of that against the Bobcats.
“We’re trying to go through, methodically, why we are a little bit tentative, why were falling of blocks, why we weren’t firing off the line of scrimmage.” Bohl added, “We’ve got a lot of confidence in that group.”
Wyoming rushed for 151 yards, and just 98 of those yards were from the running backs. Junior center Keegan Cryder said it was frustrating, as they underperformed.
“We did not perform as well as we wanted to on Saturday, up front.” Cryder added, “We have a very high bar set for us, and we definitely don’t want to lower that. It was frustrating, but after looking at the film we saw where we made our mistakes and look forward correcting those this week, and getting back on the horse.”
The Cowboys are at Northern Illinois Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. mountain time in Dekalb.
