You need to go to Cody on Saturday. The Wyoming Wildlife Federation is hosting its Western Bear and Wildlife Banquet this weekend, and it’s more than just a fundraising banquet.
All the events take place at the Cody Cattle Company in Cody. The day starts with workshops beginning at 3 p.m. One of the workshops explains the latest in grizzly and black bear research; another features WWF communications director Jaden Bales giving you tips on how to make the most of the year’s tag applications. You can also find out how to make a difference in the future of hunting or learn how to sort the fact from the sensationalism in today’s flooded media and internet.
The Western Bear and Wildlife Banquet will hopefully become an annual event, and it’s aim is to maintain sound, science-based wildlife management of all game animals. The banquet will start at 5 p.m., and dinner is at 6:30. The keynote at 7 p.m. will feature Robbie Kroger of Blood Origins, who will speak to the impact of hunting and conservation around the globe.
Tickets are $40 for an individual or $150 for a family of four, or you can get a table for 10 for $400. The table ticket includes $100 in raffle tickets, as well as an exclusive table raffle.
The proceeds will be split between the Wyoming Wildlife Federation and the Western Bear Foundation. Both organizations are based in Wyoming – WWF is headquartered in Lander, and the Western Bear Foundation is out of Cody.
Plan to be in Cody this weekend for this event. You’ll have a chance to win a ton of great gear, catch up with others who share your passions, and support wildlife conservation at the same time.
