Don’t miss Mule Deer Days in March

Things kind of slow down for us hunters in March. The winter hunting seasons will be mostly over, and the spring hunting seasons won’t be started yet. But the Muley Fanatic Foundation has a cure for your cabin fever.

On March 10 and 11, the Muley Fanatic Foundation has a solution to your winter boredom. That lull in outdoor opportunities between the end of the waterfowl and small game seasons and the start of the spring hunting seasons can seem to drag on forever. But the Muley Fanatic Foundation and the Game and Fish Department have partnered to bring us a hunting expo that’ll help us get back in the hunting mindset again, at least for a weekend.

They’re calling it Mule Deer Days, and it’ll be packed full of seminars, guest speakers, hunting gear auctions and gun giveaways. They’re actually bringing 200 guns to the event that will be given away.

In addition, there will be vendors from all your favorite outdoor gear brands, and probably quite a few you’ll be happy to learn about for the first time. They’ll have guest speakers providing seminars on the best methods and tactics for hunting, as well as fishing, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

They’ll have a demonstration by the FlipFlop Guy himself, showing us how to cook this incredibly succulent cut of wild game meat. They’ll have folks from Kuiu, Weatherby, Lucid Optics, Kenetrek, and Sportsman’s Warehouse, just to name a few. They’ll have live music and food trucks, too.

It all happens Friday, March 10, from noon to 9 p.m., and Saturday, March 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs. Tickets are $20 for one-day admission or $30 for both days, and the special events, including the FlipFlop Guy show and the Saturday evening dinner with comedian Ginger Billy, have an extra cost. Go to MuleyFanatic.org to get your tickets, and plan to be in Rock Springs on March 10 and 11.
