It’s a make or miss game most of the time on the basketball court. The Wyoming Cowboys are the top team in the Mountain West when it comes to three-point field goal percentage, as they are top-ten in the country in that category, hitting nearly 40% of their three’s. Colorado State is a top-five team in the country when it comes to overall field goal percentage, shooting nearly 51% from the floor. The last time out, the Rams didn’t shoot it very well at Nevada, while the Pokes lit up the Wolf Pack last Saturday, to the tune of 98 points. Wyoming head coach Jeff Linder says games like this usually come down to whichever team can get shots to fall.
“It comes down to who’s going to make shots and who’s going to miss shots,” said Linder. “They (CSU) got a lot of open looks against Nevada, but for whatever reason the ball didn’t go in. For us, it’s kind of the same deal, as we have stretches where we shoot the ball really well, and then you have some stretches where you miss shots, and that’s when the other team goes on a run. So, obviously, both teams shoot the ball really well, so it’s going to come down to who can create more quality looks, and who can make those open looks.”
Wyoming hosts Colorado State tomorrow afternoon at 2 pm in the AA.
