Early Rain & Strong Winds Expected Today, Becoming Dry & Milder This Weekend

Our latest weather system will quickly move out of the state of Wyoming this morning.  Higher pressure will then build over the region for the rest of today.  Expect morning clouds and a few lingering rain showers, especially across far eastern portions of the state.  We will then see increasing sunshine and improving weather conditions for the rest of the day.  Slick and slushy spots will be possible over higher elevations and mountain passes, including the Summit over I-80, for the rest of the morning hours, while wet roads will be found elsewhere.  Winds will be breezy to gusty at times today, with gusts between 25 and 40 mph.  Temperatures will also become warmer and closer to the average for this time of year, with daytime highs in the 50’s and 60’s.  High pressure will continue to build over the region on Saturday and Sunday.  We will see minimal cloudiness, near or slightly above normal temperatures, and mainly quiet weather conditions this weekend.  High temperatures will stay in the upper 50’s and 60’s.  Cooler and more unsettled weather will return to the region during the first half of next week.
