Rivers and streams are on the rise in southeast and central Wyoming as the annual snowmelt gets underway in earnest.

The Laramie River at Laramie and Fort Laramie is above flood stage, causing minor flooding, and is expected to rise through this week.

The North Platte at Saratoga and Sinclair is also approaching flood stage and is rising. The Encampment River also is expected to reach flood stage this week near Encampment.

In central Wyoming, the Wind, Little Wind and Popo Agie (pah-POH’-shuh) rivers are also on the rise with the Little Wind and Popo Agie nearing flood stage.
