A jury has found a Laramie man guilty of plotting to use a homemade pipe bomb to kill the man his wife was reportedly having an affair with.

The Laramie Boomerang reports that 40-year-old Ryan Alexander Brown was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder. He was arrested in late October.

The charge carries a minimum sentence of life in prison and a maximum of life in prison without parole.

During the trial, Brown admitted to fantasizing about killing the man but said he had no intention of actually doing so.

His attorney described Brown as a brokenhearted “dirtbag.” He said Brown was “an angry little man who never intended to kill anyone.”

Brown’s two alleged co-conspirators accepted plea agreements and will be sentenced in July.
