Lummis 1-23-20
Former presidential candidate and current U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) endorsed Cynthia Lummis today in the race for U.S. Senate in Wyoming.
“Cynthia Lummis is a strong leader,” said Senator Cruz. “As a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus she fought to reduce wasteful Washington spending, adhere to the Constitution and defend the conservative values we hold dear. She made Wyoming proud in the House of Representatives and she will do the same in the Senate. I am proud to endorse her for the United States Senate.”
“There’s a reason the people of Wyoming have long admired Senator Ted Cruz – he’s the very embodiment of a Constitutional Conservative,” said Lummis. “As a United States Senator, he’s fought to limit Washington overreach, defend individual freedoms and secure our borders. He’s been a tireless champion of President Trump’s ‘America First’ agenda and I am beyond honored to have his endorsement.”
Lummis, who served for eight years as Wyoming’s sole
representative in Congress from 2008-2016, is running to fill the seat being
left vacant by Senator Mike Enzi. Prior to serving in the U.S. House of
Representatives, Lummis spent eight years as Wyoming State Treasurer and 14
years as a member of the Wyoming State House and Senate.
Lummis has also been endorsed by U.S. Senators Rand Paul, Mike Lee and Bill
Cassidy, former U.S. Representatives Jason Chaffetz and Michele Bachmann as
well as the Club for Growth, Senate Conservative Fund, FreedomWorks for America
and the Protect Freedom PAC.
