Wyoming freshman running back D.Q. James has shown glimpses of what he could do throughout the season. But, over the last two games, James has shown what he can do when given even more reps. Last Saturday, he rushed for a career-high 179 yards, as he’s had back-to-back weeks of games over a hundred yards rushing. He’s currently third on the team in rushing yards, and averaging nearly ten yards a carry. Cowboy running back’s coach Gordie Haug says that D.Q. is earning those added reps.
“I think it has everything to do with attitude and consistency. I think that’s the one thing he’s added these last two months, to be able to get an opportunity to showcase his skills.” Haug added, “He’s doing a great job of understanding what we need out of our backs, and transferred that into real, live-game reps. He’s doing a great job.”
The Cowboys are on their second bye week of the season. They are at Colorado State November 12th.
