GILLETTE, (AP) – Campbell County school officials are urging support for efforts to prevent marijuana use among youth.

The county trustees are drafting a resolution to give to the Wyoming School Board Association to support educational initiatives informing residents about negative impacts to youths who use the drug. Trustees are expected to finalize wording for the resolution in September.

The trustees are also backing an effort called “There Is No Debate,” which is also meant to inform residents about the impacts of the drug.

Marijuana supporters are currently collecting signatures to ask voters in 2016 to approve the drug’s use for medical purposes.
