A weak ridge of high pressure will build over the state of Wyoming for the rest of today and Tuesday. Expect sunny to mostly sunny skies, light to breezy winds, and mainly dry weather conditions statewide. Temperatures will also be mild and about 10 to 20 degrees above the normal for this time of year. Highs will reach the 50’s and 60’s, while low will drop into the 20’s and 30’s.
An Arctic cold front will dig south across the state of Wyoming on Wednesday and Wednesday night. Expect increasing clouds and breezy to gusty winds for the middle of the week. Light to scattered snow will develop early on Wednesday morning across far northern Wyoming and will then push into western and central Wyoming during the late morning and afternoon hours. At the same time, a Pacific low pressure system will approach the region from the southwest. This will push even more moisture and atmospheric instability into Wyoming late on Wednesday. As a result, snow will intensify across western and central Wyoming overnight into Thanksgiving Day. Light to moderate snowfall will also develop across southeastern Wyoming on Wednesday night. Cloudy skies and light to moderate snowfall is expected statewide on Thanksgiving Day. Significant travel concerns (blowing snow, reduced visibility, and slick/icy/snowy roads) will be found throughout the entire state of Wyoming late Wednesday night and through Thanksgiving Day. Temperatures will become significantly colder and well below normal for northern and central Wyoming on Wednesday, while colder and closer to average temperatures will be across southern Wyoming. Bitterly cold temperatures will then arrive on Thanksgiving Day.
