Free Cowboy Football Tickets For Wyoming Veterans

By Staff 8-25,2015

Limited free tickets are available to Wyoming veterans for

the University of Wyoming Cowboy football game against Eastern Michigan at

War Memorial Stadium, Sept. 12, in Laramie, with a kickoff time at 2 p.m.

Wyoming National Guard and F.E. Warren Air Force Base personnel should

access tickets via the VetTix program website at

http://www.VetTix.rg/ref/242534.

Veterans who aren’t able to access VetTix can request two tickets per

veteran by contacting the Wyoming Veterans Commission at 307-777-8152.

Veterans will need to provide their name, mailing address, phone number, and

some basic proof of their veteran status such as a veterans service

organization membership card, VA health care identification card, retired

military identification card, or other proof of veteran status. All

requests for tickets must be received by the close of business Aug. 28 and

will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Tickets will be mailed

as the orders are filled and no later than Sept. 3.

Wyoming veterans, current military personnel, and their family members will

also be recognized during a special pre-game on-field ceremony. Veterans

and current military personnel and their family members will meet at the

north end zone 30 minutes prior to kickoff and will be escorted onto the

field.

“Thank you to the University of Wyoming Athletic Department for supporting

Wyoming Veterans,” said Linda Allgeier, chairman of the Wyoming Veterans

Commission and UW graduate. “Wyoming veterans have a long tradition of

supporting Cowboy football. This is a great way to recognize our veterans’

service to our state and nation.”

Veterans, military, their families and guests are also invited to American

Legion Post #14, 417 Ivinson St., for a complimentary tailgate buffet,

hosted by the Wyoming Veterans Commission, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
