The Wyoming Cowboy football team didn’t practice on Monday. But to say that they’re taking this week off would be untrue. It’s a chance for some injured players to get on the mend, and get closer to coming back on to the field. And it’s also a chance for players to get some minor things healed up. In fact, the Pokes have two byes over the next few weeks, with the second coming after the Hawaii trip. Sophomore defensive tackle Gavin Meyer–who had six tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks and a blocked field goal at New Mexico–says this particular bye comes at the right time.
“Playing this many games this early definitely affects everybody. A couple of guys went down in practice and in games, and it’s definitely tough to see them down.” Meyer added, “but this bye week is huge for everybody, to get everyone back healthy and get everyone a really good week of rest and recovery, and then get back to it against Utah State.”
Wyoming hosts Utah State October 22nd, and that game time has been set at 7:45 pm.
