Office Of Tourism Launches New Website

By Staff 3-30,2016

The Wyoming Office of Tourism (WOT) officially announced the launch of their new website, TravelWyoming.com today.  The new website will slowly replace WyomingTourism.org as the two sites will work in parallel until sometime in June when the transfer of content to the new site will be completed.

TravelWyoming.com is being launched in coordination of WOT’s “That’s WY” campaign. The new site will have the same look and feel as the campaign and will feature content directly related to marketing materials. All of the “That’s WY” advertising leads consumers to the new site and allows them to be further inspired to visit Wyoming, plan their trip or order an official traveler’s journal.

Funding for the new website was appropriated by the Wyoming State Legislature in 2015 as one time use funds for the project.

The new site design has a fresh and modern look and features several upgrades over the previous site. WOT has seen sharp rises in mobile users accessing the current site so a top priority was to make TravelWyoming.com fully responsive. This means that the site can be viewed the same on any device such as a desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. The site also has improved functionality and navigation.

“We are very excited about the launch of TravelWyoming.com,” said Diane Shober, Executive Director of the Wyoming Office of Tourism. “The website is the starting point for thousands of consumers every month. We must have a site that is easy to use and provides all the necessary information a potential traveler may need, but it’s just as important for the site to inspire those people to choose Wyoming as their destination of choice,” she added.
