High pressure will start to build over the state of Wyoming today. Expect increasing sunshine, light to breezy winds, and seasonably warm temperatures statewide. There is, however, a small chance for showers and thunderstorms, mainly across far southern Wyoming, due to lingering low-level moisture and daytime heating. Daytime highs today will remain in the 70’s and 80’s. High pressure will continue to control the weather across the region for much of the day on Saturday. We will see plenty of sunshine and mainly dry weather conditions, but winds could be breezy to gusty at times. Temperatures will also be warmer and above average for the start of the weekend. A weather system and weak cool front will then approach the state late Saturday night into Sunday. This could trigger a few hit or miss showers and thunderstorms across far western Wyoming overnight. On Sunday, expect partly sunny skies and a better chance for showers and thunderstorms statewide. Temperatures, however, remain warmer than normal for the end of the weekend.
