A drier and warmer air-mass will be settled over the state of Wyoming today. Expect sunny to mostly sunny skies with very warm to hot temperatures statewide. Even though temperatures will be hot, it will remain close to the average for this time of year. There will also be a smaller chance for showers and thunderstorms today, mainly across western and southern Wyoming, due to lingering low-level moisture and daytime heating. Expect daytime highs in the 80’s to lower 90’s. An unseasonably strong cool front and weather system will approach the region on Friday and will continue to control the weather across the area through the upcoming weekend. We will see thickening clouds and a better chance for showers and thunderstorms statewide on Friday, especially in the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will be cooler for northern Wyoming, while warm, seasonal temperatures continue elsewhere for the end of the work week. We can then expect more clouds than sun with scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will also be cooler and below average throughout the state during this time.
