Wyoming Senator John Barrasso says the Energy Policy Modernization Act recently passed by the U.S. Senate will help the natural gas industry in Wyoming. A provision in the act is aimed at speeding up the process for natural gas exports to buyers around the world. Barrasso says speeding up the process for exporting liquid natural gas will create jobs in Wyoming, while giving the U.S. allies around the world another option for gas.
Barrasso says his provision should keep Washington, D.C., from being a roadblock to moving natural gas to those who need it. He says the Department of Energy currently spends nearly seven months reviewing the process for exporting liquefied natural gas.
