The Wyoming Cowboy football team doesn’t want to get used to losing. But unfortunately for the Pokes, they’ve endured more of that than winning games recently, as they are coming off of a two-win season last year. Wyoming is still a relatively young team, particularly on defense, but the Cowboy offense is hoping to do their part to help get the Pokes on the winning track in head coach Craig Bohl’s third year. Senior wide receiver, Jake Maulhardt, believes they have the players to do just that. “Just the guys we have returning, and the atmosphere…..We’re sick of losing, we’re tired of it.”
Maulhardt says, “The guys we have returning, especially on offense, with Brian (running back Brian Hill), Tanner’s (Gentry) back, (tight end) Jake Hollister, we have a good quarterback, good (offensive) line, and so we have too much talent to be bad again.”
The Cowboys will hold their first scrimmage of fall camp tomorrow at War Memorial Stadium. The season opener is September 3rd at home against Northern Illinois.
