High pressure continues to control the weather throughout the state of Wyoming today. There could be some mid and high-level cloudiness, but conditions will stay mainly dry today. Temperatures will also be mild and above normal, with highs in the 40’s and 50’s. The only major weather and travel concern will be strong and gusty winds, mainly in southeastern portions of the state. Watch out for wind gusts between 35 and 50 mph at times. A fast-moving weather system and weak cool front will slide across northern Wyoming late tonight into Friday, while higher pressure remains over the rest of the state. For northern Wyoming, rain and snow showers could develop early on Friday and will continue throughout the day. This will make roadways wet to slick at times. We will also see cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with colder temperatures. For central and southern Wyoming, we will continue to see partly to mostly sunny skies, warmer than normal temperatures, and mainly dry weather conditions. Winds will also remain strong and gusty at times. Another weather system and cold front will then slide across the entire state this weekend. The main concern on Saturday and Sunday will be strong to potentially high winds. There will also be another small chance for rain and snow statewide.
