Train Derails West Of Cheyenne

There were no injuries when a train derailed west of Cheyenne yesterday.  16 rail cars went off the tracks along Otto road near Dyno Nobel early in the afternoon.

Emergency crews from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Laramie County Sheriff’s Department, and Laramie County Fire District Number One responded to the scene.

Union Pacific officials say there were no hazardous materials that derailed.  The train was headed to North Platte, Nebraska from Hinkle, Oregon.

The cause of the derailment is still under investigation.
