A large ridge of high pressure will be settled over the state of Wyoming for the rest of today. This will keep skies sunny to mostly sunny and temperatures very warm to hot. We could see temperatures reach five to 15 degrees above normal, with daytime highs in the 80’s and 90’s. With the exception of far northwestern parts of the state, conditions will also stay mainly dry. By Tuesday, an upper-level weather system and cool front will slowly approach the area. This will cause clouds to thicken and there will also be a chance for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms. Any storms that develop could be strong to severe and capable of producing hail, gusty winds, and brief periods of heavy rain. Temperatures, however, will remain hot and above normal statewide, with daytime highs in the 80’s and 90’s. Some locations could also come close to 100 degrees. We will see partly sunny skies with even more shower and thunderstorm activity on Wednesday. Temperatures will also be not as warm and closer to average for the middle of the work week.
