Warmer & Mainly Dry Today, Becoming Windy On Friday

High pressure will remain settled over the state of Wyoming today and for much of the day on Friday.  Expect partly to mostly sunny skies with areas of haze and smoke (due to wildfires in the Pacific Northwest).  We will also see breezy to gusty winds and mainly dry weather conditions throughout the state.  Temperatures will be warmer and closer to average today, with daytime highs in the upper 70’s and 80’s.  Partly sunny skies and mainly dry weather conditions will continue on Friday.  Temperatures will also remain very warm to hot and near average.  Winds, however, will increase and become strong by the evening and overnight hours as a cool front approaches the region.  For northern, central, and eastern Wyoming, expect wind gusts between 35 and 50 mph, with some isolated higher gusts possible.  Elsewhere, wind gusts should generally remain below 35 mph.  Noticeably cooler temperatures and breezy to windy conditions are expected on Saturday.
