Wildflower Women help ladies get out in the wilds

My wife’s off on another Wyoming Wildflower Women adventure, but I don’t qualify for admittance to the group. They do some really cool things, though, and I often wish I could join.

My wife went on one of the Wyoming Wildflower Women excursions a couple weeks ago to South Pass City, where they camped in the ghost town, toured the gold mine, and did a bunch of other cool stuff. This week, she’s out with the group again, this time up at Buffalo Bill State Park. From the looks of it, they’re kayaking, hiking, and coming up with tasty-looking camp meals. Sounds like a whole lot more fun than staying home watching the critters.

I’m glad she’s getting to go out, though, and I’m especially happy there’s a group like Wildflower Women she can go with. It’s a group loosely run through the Wyoming State Parks, so the bulk of their outings take them to those parks. Some of the trips are just day trips, but others span several days and involve camping out. The whole program is a great way to learn outdoor skills, if you don’t have them already, or to put your skills to work if you’re a seasoned outdoorswoman.

They’re coming up on the end of their season for this year, though I think they often do some winter outings, too, and they say they meet monthly on Sunday afternoons through October, so there are still quite a few adventures yet to come. You can find out more about the Wyoming Wildflower Women on the Wyoming State Parks Facebook page. That’s where they post the upcoming trips and let you know where they’re headed next.

I wish I could go with my wife on these trips, but I know it’s good for her to be able to get away from everything – including me – for a while and decompress. She has a blast every time she goes, and she comes home relaxed and rejuvenated. If you’re a woman looking for adventure, check them out!
