High pressure will continue to control the weather across the state of Wyoming today. Expect more sun than clouds, breezy to gusty winds, and mainly dry weather conditions statewide. Temperatures will also be mild and above the normal for this time of year, with high temperatures in the upper 40’s and 50’s. An Arctic cold front will begin to dig south across the region on Wednesday. Expect cloudy to mostly cloudy skies, breezy to gusty winds, and significantly colder temperatures on Wednesday. Light snow will develop across northern Wyoming during the morning hours and will then continue to push to central and southern Wyoming for the rest of the day. There could also be freezing fog and drizzle in the far southeast corner before any snow develops. Roads will likely become slick and icy throughout the day and visibility could also be reduced at times due to on-going and blowing snow. By Wednesday night, a Pacific low pressure system will move into southwestern portions of the nation. This will force plenty of moisture and atmospheric instability into Wyoming, which will collide with the Arctic cold front and cause snow to intensify. Slick, icy, and some snowy roads will be found throughout the entire state Wednesday night into early Thanksgiving morning. For the rest of Thanksgiving Day, cloudy skies and light to moderate snowfall will be likely. Significant travel concerns will also continue. Temperatures will be bitterly cold as Arctic air settles over the region. A cold and very unsettled weather pattern will continue on Friday and possibly into the upcoming weekend.
