Wyoming County Commissioners Association Elects New Leadership

WCC 12-15, 2016

Wyoming’s County Commissioners elected new executive leaders from among their peers at the Wyoming County Commissioners Association (WCCA) Winter Meeting last week in Lusk, Wyo. Rob Hendry, Natrona County Commissioner, was elected as the 2017-2018 President, taking the reins from the 2015-2016 President Richard Ladwig (Niobrara County). Other officers elected were Troy Thompson, Laramie County Commissioner, for Vice President, and Jim Willox, Converse County Commissioner, for Treasurer.

Commissioner Hendry has served as a County Commissioner in Natrona County since 2007, and has served as the WCCA Vice President for the last two years. He is a third generation rancher and owns Clear Creek Cattle Co. in Natrona, Fremont and Washakie Counties. Rob has been involved in many volunteer service organizations including the National Cattleman’s Beef Association, Wyoming Stock Growers Association, and First Interstate Bank Board of Casper. He is a 2009 inductee into the Wyoming Agricultural Hall of Fame.

“Having served with Rob as an executive officer these last two years, I know his positive attitude and strong leadership skills give him the utmost qualifications for taking on the responsibilities of this role,” said Past President Ladwig. “Rob, as well as Troy and Jim, are extremely dedicated to their respective counties, this state, and the WCCA. I am very confident their terms will be successful.”

Commissioner Thompson is in the middle of his second term as a Laramie County Commissioner. He most recently served as the WCCA Treasurer for the past two years. Troy is a past Board Member of the WCCA and a past Chairman of the Laramie County Board of County Commissioners. He is a practicing veterinarian and the owner of Tri-State Veterinary Clinic in Cheyenne.

Commissioner Willox has been an active member of the WCCA including being a member of the WCCA’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the WCCA Transportation Committee. He has been a Converse County Commissioner for ten years. Jim is a lifelong resident of Converse County, having been raised on his family’s ranch south of Douglas. He is a licensed real estate agent and businessman in Douglas.
