Wyoming Department of Corrections COVID-19 Update

On Monday October 26, 2020 the Wyoming Department of Corrections (WDOC) conducted routine monitoring Covid-19 testing of staff and inmates at the Wyoming Honor Conservation Camp in Newcastle. The results from those 296 tests returned 80 new positive cases, 73 inmates and 7 staff members. The facility will conduct a comprehensive retest next
week The Department will update department wide numbers in the near future.

Also on Monday October 26, 2020 WDOC conducted routine comprehensive testing of staff and inmates at the Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution in Torrington. The results from those 805 tests returned 16 new positive cases, 6 inmates and 10 staff.

Since April 2020 the wearing of face masks and monitoring of social distancing has been and continues to be required of all staff and inmates.

The WDOC is working closely with the Department of Health and State Epidemiologist. The Department will continue diligent monitoring at all sites and will report accordingly.
