The Wyoming Cowboys host New Mexico this weekend in Laramie, as both teams open up the Mountain West schedule. On this week’s two-deep roster for the Pokes, there are 19 true freshman or redshirt freshmen among the 44 players listed. Head coach Craig Bohl says there are instances where the youth on the team is enough to drive him crazy. But at the same time, Bohl says their willingness to learn and compete is something that can’t be overstated. And he say that part of this youth movement is exciting.
Senior defensive lineman Eddie Yarbrough has been there before, and he’s been very patient with some of the youth on defense. But in all reality, Yarbrough says it was a mystery to how this would unfold to begin the season.
Wyoming will host New Mexico Saturday afternoon in Laramie. Kickoff is set for 1 pm.
