Heart and determination make him the perfect fit at Wyoming. Cowboy senior nose guard, Chase Appleby, is the epitome of a Wyoming guy. Under-sized for his position, Appleby has worked hard to get to the spot he’s at, which is a starting lineman on the Cowboy defensive front.
It wasn’t easy though, as he started out on the scout team his first two years, plus endured several knee injuries that threatened his time in Laramie. But Appleby says that practice, hard work and listening to his coaches, is why he’s been successful at Wyoming.
Growing up in Texas, Appleby had dreams of staying in state. But he quickly realized his size was going to be a problem. Wyoming coaches liked what they saw, and it’s worked out on both sides.
Wyoming is going to have its hands full this weekend, when they host Air Force Saturday afternoon in Laramie. It’s Homecoming, and kickoff at War Memorial Stadium is set for 1:30 pm.
