Road Impact Forecast for Wednesday, May 25 [VIDEO]

A trough of low pressure will continue to be settled over the Pacific Northwest and the Rocky Mountains today.  As a result, a southwesterly flow will force subtropical moisture and atmospheric energy into the state of Wyoming.  By Thursday and Friday, this weather system will then slowly move across the entire Rockies and High Plains. For today, expect partly to mostly sunny skies, seasonably mild temperatures, and isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms.  High temperatures will remain in the 50’s and 60’s.  The heaviest precipitation will occur in western and north-central Wyoming.  However, any thunderstorm that develops could be capable of producing brief periods of heavy rain.  There will also be a threat for very gusty winds, small hail, and frequent lightning statewide.  We will then see more clouds than sun, slightly cooler temperatures, and even more showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.  A mild and very unsettled weather pattern will continue on Saturday, Sunday, and Memorial Day.
