You can bet that the next time the Wyoming Cowboys have the chance to put a team away, they will. The Pokes led Northern Illinois 42-16 late in the third quarter last Saturday. But, the Wyoming defense would give up four straight scores, and find themselves down by a point in the fourth quarter. Nickel back Keyon Blankenbaker believes that they let their foot off the gas in the second half.

“I definitely think we got complacent,” said Blankenbaker. “We didn’t finish out the game, so that’s what I saw with the defense through the fourth quarter. Like I said, we held on to the win, and that’s all that matters, and we’re getting ready for this week.”

As the Cowboys get ready for another MAC school–as Ball State comes to Laramie–Blankenbaker says it will be important to get back into the film room.

“Film study is going to be huge this week,” according to Blankenbaker. “We’ve got to know who we are going up against. We are very prideful, and we have a huge test this week, and we’re going to bounce back.”

Wyoming hosts Ball State Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 pm.
