High school football in Wyoming starts for real tomorrow night. Four-A football will be the firs to go, as games are for real in the ten-team classification Friday night. Defending champ Sheridan returns a good number of players from last year’s title team. But head coach Don Julian says they did lose a good senior class, which included quarterback Blake Godwin, and other strong skill position players. Julian says after more than two weeks of practice, it’s time to get on the field for a game.
Four-A has been dominated by four teams the last several years. Sheridan, Gillette, Natrona County and Cheyenne East have been the teams to beat the last several years, as it’s been some time since another team has made it to the 4A semi’s. But Julian says that a trio of teams have a shot at breaking into the top four this year.
Sheridan will open up the year with Laramie tomorrow night. Our CSNN game of the week has Cheyenne East at Rock Springs.
